Why Novara exists

Knowledge alone does not always open the door.

Who We Are

A South African Skills-Development Organisation

Novara is a youth talent-development organisation building structured pathways between learning, practical experience and economic opportunity.

We believe young people should have opportunities not only to learn, but to apply what they learn, demonstrate what they can do, gain meaningful experience and strengthen their ability to enter the world of work.

The Gap

The Problem We Exist to Solve

Novara exists to address the gap between education and employment experienced by young people entering the workforce.

While many young people complete school, university, training programmes or online courses, they may still lack the practical experience, demonstrable work, professional exposure, career guidance and employer access required to compete effectively for opportunities.

At the same time, employers increasingly require evidence that entry-level candidates can apply their knowledge in real working environments. This creates an experience gap in which young people need opportunities to gain experience but are often expected to already have experience before those opportunities become accessible.

Novara bridges this gap by connecting skills development with practical application, portfolio development, real projects, work experience, career preparation and employer access — helping young people move from learning to demonstrated capability and, ultimately, economic opportunity.

Our Mission

Skills, Applied.

Novara's mission is to equip young people with practical, work-relevant skills and create structured pathways through which they can apply those skills, gain real experience, build evidence of their capabilities and access meaningful economic opportunities.

Through learning, Experience Labs, workplace exposure, career development and employer partnerships, Novara works to bridge the gap between education and employment and help emerging talent become confident, capable and work-ready.

Our Vision

A Credible Pathway For Everyone.

To build a future where every young person with the potential and willingness to succeed has a credible pathway from learning to experience, employment and economic opportunity — regardless of where they started or the professional networks and resources available to them.

Our Approach

Universal Opportunity. Targeted Support.

Novara believes opportunity should not be restricted by socioeconomic background.

Our programmes may serve young people from diverse backgrounds while maintaining a particular commitment to individuals facing financial, technological, geographic, professional-network or opportunity barriers.

Access to opportunity can be broad, while scarce subsidised resources are prioritised according to demonstrated need.

Programme Philosophy

Learn. Apply. Demonstrate.

Learning becomes most valuable when it can be applied, demonstrated and translated into real economic opportunity.

Programmes prioritise practical, work-relevant learning and progressively expose participants to portfolio development, realistic projects, Experience Labs, real client work, workplace environments and employer opportunities.

Leadership & Governance
Transparency

Opportunity, Not Empty Promises.

Novara does not guarantee employment, a particular salary, placement into a specific company, acceptance into a learnership, a specific number of paid gigs or any outcome controlled by an external employer.

Our commitment is to strengthen each learner's skills, evidence, experience, professional readiness and access to appropriate opportunities.

Novara provides the pathway, resources, experience, preparation and access. Learners provide commitment, effort and accountability. Employers make their own hiring decisions.
